Vintage Cars Diecast

Silly Questions From A Novice …..?

Hey everybody! It’s me the guy with little Nascar knowledge. I got a few questions for those who have been there and done that! Why aren’t there any serious Smash Up Derbies anymore? I remember as a kid I would visit friends in Indianapolis (many, many years ago!) we would go see the local smash up derby race and other stuff and I thought it was fun! I know there’s probably not a lot of money involved but didn’t some of the great race drivers of yesteryear get there start like this?

Last question ”

Who else besides me had a SSP Smash em’ up derby set or a Sizzlers race car set as a kid?

My friends 8 year old son has some Hot Wheels and race track. I showed him how to set up a dragstrip and we played for a awhile then we made houses out of Lego’s, and he made up a game where we were rival mobsters and we would drive our race cars between compounds and sell make believe guns and launder money that we counterfitted in our Lego compounds. We even funded our own power facilities for our mob compounds. Then in the middle of the night, we would send our race cars to infiltrate the other camps. There were some good crashes. But we would have to settle our disputes at the Hot Wheels Dragstrip
